1. Severe Toothache

What to do:
- Rinse your mouth with warm salt water
- Gently floss around the tooth to rule out trapped food
- Take an over-the-counter pain reliever if needed
- Avoid placing aspirin directly on the gum or tooth — it can burn soft tissue
If the pain doesn’t subside within a day, it may point to a deeper issue that needs a root canal to save the tooth.
2. Knocked-Out (Avulsed) Tooth
Time matters here — a tooth re-implanted within 30–60 minutes has the best chance of survival.
What to do:
- Pick the tooth up by the crown (top), never the root
- Rinse it gently with water — don’t scrub it
- Try to place it back in the socket; if that’s not possible, keep it in milk or your own saliva
